Superior Lore-Friendly Hair, also as mentioned above, gives the vanilla hairstyles a nicer look. All you need is a copy of the Creation Kit (Skyrims game editor), this tutorial, and a few minutes to make a simple mod that will allow you to duplicate the appearance of almost any character in the game. If you own a PC copy of the game, this is actually pretty easy to do. RaceMenu as listed above, vastly improves the options available in CC. Have you ever seen a character in Skyrim and thought: 'Wow, I wish I could make my character look like that'. XCE - incorporates 'no more blocky faces' and various other subtle improvers, so they still look like Skyrim characters, but 'better'
